This service helps youths between 16 and 30 years old, providing them with answers to their questions and support with accessing and retaining housing.
It assists with the search for suitable housing and offers information on arrangements that facilitate access to housing. It also helps with administrative formalities and budget management.

THE STATE AS GUARANTOR FOR STUDENTS WITH THE VISALE ARRANGEMENT!
There is no “CROUS” housing in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, but many private owners offer student housing near the IUT. These owners ask for a strong application with a certain number of guarantees that are not always easy to find and provide.
Too few students are currently able to provide a rental deposit considered acceptable by very demanding landlords. However, if you meet certain conditions, you could easily benefit from a reliable guarantor such as Visale, enabling you to continue your studies while enjoying good housing and peace of mind.
LOCA-PASS GUARANTEE
Visale, an Action Logement service, supports you on your path to independence by acting as a student guarantor for the rental of housing from private owners or for social or related housing.

PERSONALISED HOUSING AID (APL)
If you live in an “approved” apartment (ask the owner), you are entitled to APL, the amount of which will depend on your income and the amount of rent paid.
HOUSING ALLOWANCE
French students, and foreign students under certain conditions, who are not entitled to APL (non-approved apartment) may receive a Social Housing Allowance (ALS) provided they pay rent for a room in a university residence or an apartment of at least 9m² (and the owner is neither an ascendent or descendant of the student).
An application for the allowance must be made by the student to the C.A.F. (family allowance fund) of the place where housing is rented. The amount of the allowance is based on the cost of rent and the student’s income.

Two establishments are approved by the Crous to provide meals (lunches) at the university rate: 3€30 (2021 rate)

Access arrangements must be enquired about on-site, see the map for directions.
Student car-sharing is the most used means of transport.
However, students can use the bus lines in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges at preferential rates.
